Cobey Shaver became passionate about the written word at an early age. A love of Edgar Allen Poe was kindled in fifth grade. He pursued the author voraciously thereafter. That same year he discovered Stephen King and Anne Rice. These experiences fueled an interest in the thriller and horror genres.
Cobey was a contributor to the Lubbock Metro-Leader and creator of LubbocksBest.com (a websited dedicated to activities based around Lubbock, Texas). These experiences gave him his first taste of publication.
He is currently focusing on a Creative Writing and English degree at Southern New Hampshire University. He sees this as a first step in his pursuit to make fiction writing his career.
While his publishing interests are still unclear, he is keeping his options open. Exploration is a part of any creative life and whether self-publishing or seeking a publishing house are in his future, Cobey will look into the options thoroughly.
